I need something fun to read over the break! What should I do?

Answer

While the library has some non-academic books in its "Popular" reading collection and ebook collection, many more are available through local public libraries. Access is provided to popular ebooks (and audiobooks!) through Overdrive (with the Libby app) and/or Hoopla. Both allow access to digitized, full versions of library materials, and best of all, they're free with a public library card!

The Libby app can be installed on a wide variety of devices. You can listen to audiobooks through the Libby app and read ebooks accessed through Libby on the Libby app, on your Kindle, or on another preferred device.

You just need a library card at your local public library to be able to use Libby remotely--from anywhere in the country! If you live on-campus, you can apply for a Pamunkey Regional student library card. It's easy to do (be sure to read the hints in this pic) and you will receive your card by mail in about 7 days. If you are a local commuter, faculty, or staff member, you may also be eligible for a card.
