How can I offer synchronous lectures/remote learning for my students?

Answer

You will need:

  • Device (desktop, laptop, or mobile device) with a good internet connection
  • Headphones or earbuds (optional if your device has a built-in microphone and speakers)
  • Microphone (optional if your device has a built-in microphone)
  • Web camera (optional if your device has a built-in microphone and camera)
  • Chrome or Firefox installed on the computer for accessing the web-version of the video conferencing system. Other web-browsers may limit functions of the video conferencing system.
  • Your audio, video and equipment tested well before the start of class and in the location where you will host video conference session(s). If you are facing a low bandwidth signal, shutting off your video will help. If you are experiencing connectivity issues, there are always call-in number options (with international options).
  • Download and use Microsoft Teams for online meetings.
