Where did the library get its name, McGraw-Page?

Answer

According to Prof. Laurie Preston, Head of Special Collections and Archives:

The McGraw-Page Library is named after Walter Hines Page (1855-1918), RMC Class of 1876, and Donald Cushing McGraw. After a successful career as an educator, journalist, editor, and publisher, Walter Hines Page served as Ambassador to the Court of St. James (Great Britain) from 1913 until August 1918, resigning shortly before his death. Donald Cushing McGraw (1897-1974), led the prominent publishing house McGraw-Hill for many years. His name was added to what was originally the Walter Hines Page Library due to a generous gift from his sister, June McGraw McBroom, towards the Library’s expansion and renovation in the 1980s.
