How does renting a computer work?

PC laptops are available for check-out at the Library Information Desk on the first floor. These laptops should have all the standard College software on them, including the Microsoft Office Suite, SPSS, QDA Miner Lite, JEdit, Java SDK, Eclipse, and more.
Laptops are available for a 3-day check out and can be renewed once for an additional 3 days online through the My Library Account function or by emailing ibrary@rmc.edu. Please note that library laptops are not intended to be checked out for a semester and cannot serve as a student's personal machine for any length of time.
The Library does work with ITS to provide a long-term loaner laptop in the event a student's personal computer needs repairs. ITS contacts the Library to request a longer loan period based on a machine's estimated repair time, after which time the student is expected to return the loaned laptop to the library.
If you have an unusual situation and need an additional renewal or special loan period, PLEASE contact library staff at library@rmc.edu. We do everything to accommodate student academic needs as long as we have enough computers available in our inventory.
