What is "Becoming Homeless" and how can I access it?
Answer
Becoming Homeless is an "immersive virtual reality experience from Stanford University’s Virtual Human Interaction Lab. It allows you to use virtual reality to spend days in the life of someone who can no longer afford a home. You can interact with your environment to attempt to save your home and to protect yourself and your belongings as you walk in another’s shoes and face the adversity of living with diminishing resources."
The Becoming Homeless experience is assigned in a variety of RMC courses, but can be experienced by any member of the RMC community. To use Becoming Homeless and virtual reality, visit the Library's makerspace on the first floor or email Dori Broomell, Makerspace Manager.
